Baptism
Baptism is the first sacrament of Christian initiation. Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213). Baptism makes us members of the Body of Christ, and incorporates us into the Church. (CCC 1267). Through Baptism we become children of God and share in the Paschal Mystery of the life, death and resurrection of Christ.
Infants and young children
Baptisms are scheduled with the priests of the parish. Parents and godparents are required to attend a Baptismal Preparation Seminar offered in both English and Portuguese. Please call the parish office at (408) 292-2123 to make arrangements to attend the Baptism Preparation Class and to schedule the Baptism itself..
Children and Teens and Adults
In recognition that life does not always work on schedule, it is our hope to provide Baptismal catechesis that is age appropriate for those who were not baptized as infants. Please call the parish office at (408) 292-2123 to discuss your unique situation and how we may be of assistance.
